Education

In high school, I attended a liberal arts prep school in Potomac, Maryland, called The Heights School. I graduated last spring (2016) as a Jackson Scholar and Headmaster’s Award recipient. Currently I am attending Princeton University (Class of 2020), where I plan to concentrate in Neuroscience and earn a certificate in Humanistic Studies.

Experience

All throughout high school, I tutored multiple subjects. I have tutored writing, English, Algebra I, Pre-calculus, ancient history, biology, and chemistry. I truly love helping children reach their full potential in whatever subject they need help in. Tutoring in high school taught me many valuable lessons and tricks of the trade. I look forward to continuing to help the next generation! In high school, I also served as Secretary in my school’s Senior Counsel, interned for two summers at Faughnan-Mendicino PLLC law firm, was a panelist at my school’s freshman orientation trip, and counseled at summer camps. Junior year, I was selected to be a Jackson Scholars Candidate. As such, starting the spring of junior I—along with my faculty mentor—researched my chosen topic of nonverbal communication (body language, etc.). My year-long research culminated in the writing of a 32-page thesis, which I presented and defended in front of a four-judge panel and public audience. Taking the class taught me many unforgettable lessons such as the arts of oratory and rhetoric, proper style and technique, and the importance of organization and structure in research and writing. Besides the listed AP’s and The Jackson Scholars Program, other notable classes I took in high school include AP Latin IV Vergil and The History of Western Thought Honors. Hobbies

Outside of school, I love working out, playing sports, and playing music.  I played baseball, lacrosse, basketball, and boxing. I also enjoy playing guitar and singing.  I like all types of music, from classical to country, baroque to blues.  In high school I was a soloist in my school’s Men’s Chorus, and performed multiple times with guitar and vocals. I also love learning new languages. I speak English and Spanish, and can read Latin. Currently, I am teaching myself Italian. Besides sports and music, I am a huge fan of travel and of learning about different countries and cultures. In high school I was blessed with the opportunity to go on numerous school trips around the globe, including a mission trip to Jamaica, a Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, and a trip to the UNIV Conference in La città eterna, Roma.
