Private tutor in Cleveland, OH
Case Western Reserve University - BA, Sociology
In 2012 I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Case Western Reserve University, graduating with honors. I subsequently finished a post-baccalaureate program at Cleveland State University. My goal is to earn a Master of Public Health in the field of epidemiology. Since 2009 I have mainly been a tutor for high school students, although I have experience tutoring at every level from middle school to graduate school. I have a year's experience working for the Cleveland State Writing Center, helping students to improve their writing. I have tutored a wide variety of subjects, like biology, statistics, history, algebra, and many others. My favorite subjects to tutor are high school math and writing. Helping students prepare for standardized exams, such as the SAT and ACT, is another passion of mine. My tutoring style is to establish a rapport with my students to be sure they're comfortable with the sessions. I customize my approach to the individual student's needs and learning style, being sure they have a proper foundation and useful learning strategies. I ensure that the students fully comprehend the material and try to make the sessions fun as well. In my spare time, I like sewing and crafting projects like making earrings and dresses. I also love to watch documentaries, listen to podcasts, read nonfiction, and explore Cleveland, including visiting restaurants, exhibits, bowling alleys, and arcades.
