I have over five years of experience both administering after school tutoring programs for local Chicago agencies and providing direct tutoring within these programs. I also have five years of clinical training experience, providing therapy and assessment to young people, primarily within a school or university setting. I interact well with young people and am able to easily detect problem areas and provide effective solutions, while building a strong rapport. ACT English Score: 33; ACT Writing Score: 35. I tutor because I enjoy helping students succeed and grow by developing a positive attitude towards learning and seeing the results of their efforts. I believe that learning is a natural process and does not have to be frustrating, boring, or painful. I provide collaborative, individually tailored tutoring sessions and a comfortable relationship that focuses on making learning as simple, fun, interactive and relevant as possible. When students are struggling academically, oftentimes a new approach enables them to better succeed, and finding a method of instruction that fits a student's unique needs is something I do well.
