Leah G.
Private tutor in Cleveland, OH
Education
I hold a bachelor's degree in English from Miami University, and a Master's degree in literature from Boston College (completed May 2014), will be beginning an English PhD program in the fall
Experience
During my Master's work, I worked between 10-20 hours a week at Boston College's writing center, where I tutored everything from ELL English to undergraduate and graduate papers. I currently teach a number of literature and composition courses at several Cleveland-area colleges, and have taught a number high school students who are enrolled in post-secondary programs. All of my experiences as a writer, tutor, and teacher have exposed me to a huge variety of learners; it is always my goal to find the most effective means to help each individual student given his or her talents and weaknesses, and to help each student gain the skills and confidence necessary to succeed in the future!

Hobbies
Personal hobbies and interests include running, reading, crafting, and being outside. I am not someone who naturally likes to be still for a long period of time. I think this quality is something that helps me as a teacher and a tutor -- I can relate to students who feel bored and disinterested in school work, and help to try and find ways to change their attitude toward English and writing, rather than just dictating lessons.
