Experience
I received my bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University double majoring in History and Political Science. I became deeply involved in event planning and activities at the university. I dove in helping to enrich life as a student and campaigned for different groups at the university. After graduation, I went to work for the Department of Defense in the Finance and Accounting Service department. I gained valuable academic knowledge of bureaucracy that I was able to use in real life to the systems of the government. I then went to work to advocate for our service women and men's welfare. After that, I made the decision to advance my education. I earned my master's degree in Education from Earlham College. I enrolled in the Arts and Teaching program where I studied the teaching of holistic education. I presently hold Social Studies licensures in Ohio and Indiana. I focused my teaching on literacy and taught for a couple of years in the communities of the disadvantaged. As an educator, I believe that inspiration and understanding are the key ingredients to learning. My philosophy as an educator is that I need to create a sense of awe and wonder, to challenge, and to inspire the individuals I teach.
